Q: Why do I need a DRAPESTER?
A: Our favorite reasons to use a DRAPESTER are:
- Uncovered guitars collect dust, which, combined with perspiration and body oils from your fingers, hands, and arms, shortens string life and attacks the finish on your guitar. Dust also accumulates inside the body of your guitar, where it traps moisture against the unfinished surfaces and interferes with electrical pick-ups and contacts, leading to costly maintenance.
- Direct Sunlight is harmful to guitar finishes. Covering your guitar with a DRAPESTER reduces sun exposure.
- Performers like to use a DRAPESTER to set the stage and as a "hands off" signal during breaks.
- With our wide variety of colors and prints, the best reason to use a DRAPESTER is because they look cool!
Q: Will my DRAPESTER fit any guitar?
A: Drapesters are available in three sizes to fit a variety of instruments:
SMALL fits parlor, travel, ¾, "baby" or child sized guitars.
STANDARD fits classical, steel string, electric guitars or banjos.
LARGE fits electric bass guitars.
For exact dimensions see the Sizes page.
Q: Will a DRAPESTER fit in my guitar case?
A: Yes. A folded DRAPESTER will fit in most guitar cases.

Q: How does a DRAPESTER stay in place?
A: Because the guitar rests at an angle in the stand, the part of the DRAPESTER that hangs over the top of the guitar acts as a counterweight and keeps the DRAPESTER from sliding off. Note: the DRAPESTER won't stay in place in a hurricane...nor will the guitar.)
Q: How much fiddling does it take to cover the guitar perfectly?
A: No fiddling at all. Just line the pocket up with the neck and put the DRAPESTER over the top of the guitar so that the bottom is an inch or two off the floor. The Using Your DRAPESTER video shows how it's done.
Q: Is that a smiley face on the front?
A: It may look like a smiley face, but it's a pocket. It centers your DRAPESTER on the neck of your guitar. You can keep picks, nail accessories, business cards, etc. in the pocket.
Q: Why 100% cotton fabrics?
A: Cotton fabrics out-perform the other fibers we've tested. Our fabrics mold easily to the shape of your guitar, won't slip off, don't snag on the sharp ends of guitar strings, won't harm guitar finishes, and are eco-friendly.
Q: Can I wash my DRAPESTER?
A: Yes. DRAPESTERS are machine washable. Instructions can be found on the care label at the bottom inside edge of your DRAPESTER.
Q: How long will current colors and patterns be available?
A: Our selection changes from time to time, depending on customer requests, fabric availability, and our desire to try new things. Check our Products page for the current solid colors and prints.
Q: Do you make custom DRAPESTERS?
A: Contact Customer Service to inquire about custom DRAPESTERS.
